A teaching department needed a model that separated along anatomical planes rather than convenient printing planes, without losing internal vessel detail.

A teaching department needed a model that separated along anatomical planes rather than convenient printing planes, without losing internal vessel detail.
02 / Design
Split lines followed the septum and valve planes. Magnets were recessed into mating faces so the sections hold together but pull apart by hand.
03 / Printing Process
Chambers printed in tinted resin, vessels in clear, all at 0.05 mm. Each part was cured separately to avoid distortion, then assembled with the recessed magnets.
04 / Final Result
In use across three teaching modules. The department has since commissioned a matching lung and kidney set.

A twelve-figure tabletop set printed at 0.03 mm, holding chainmail links and facial detail under a hobby brush.
A five-axis desktop manipulator printed as fourteen interlocking parts, designed so every joint could be serviced without cutting anything apart.
A 27:1 reduction stage printed in carbon-filled nylon, running continuously on a test rig for over two hundred hours without measurable backlash growth.
